Welcome to the Web site for the Calcium and Vitamin D for Cardiometabolic Disease Studies. The clinical studies described in this site are designed to examine the effect of vitamin D and/or calcium on cardiometabolic disease, defined as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. The studies are sponsored by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney disease (NIDDK), the Office of the Dietary Supplements (ODS) and Tufts Medical Center.
